Welcome!

You've come to the right place for up to date information about internship, volunteer and job opportunities, as well as college application and scholarship deadlines, field trips, and events happening on campus. You'll also find posts on how to be as successful as possible when planning for your future!

At the bottom of this page you will find a google calendar with information about events, application deadlines, and program information. I find it easiest to navigate the calendar in "agenda" view, which you can switch it to by clicking the "agenda" tab in the upper right hand corner of the calendar.

In addition to the blog, we frequently send out emails with information that is then posted on the blog. Whether your a student, parents, or community member please feel free to join the list serve! You can do this by emailing me the message "add to list serve": macdanme@hsd401.org.

If you have any questions or need any support please stop into the LTI Office or College and Career Center, send an email, or call.

One Time Deals:
  • Life After High School Event at HHS: On November 3rd from 5:30-8:30 Highline High School will be hosting a college and career fair for the entire district. There will be about 100 vendors and 1,000 guests, included in this event is a middle school rally and a workshop series. I am looking for student volunteers to represent the school and help out with the event. You can volunteer in more than one area or just one. Please sign up ASAP!

2:15-3:00 (immediately after school): I need a team of approximately 10 students to help set up the tables for our 100 vendors

4:45-5:30 (right before event): I’m looking for approximately 10 greeters to help welcome our vendors, offer to help them carry materials from their car, and lead them to their table.

5:30-8:30 (during the event): Help our guests get to where they are going. There will be various activities taking place all over the campus. You would be needed to help visitors find their way around.

7:00-8:30 (after the middle school rally): Working in the computer lab, you would be asked to help middle schoolers apply for the College Bound Scholarship. Think of how good it would make you feel to help a ton of kids get their entire college education paid for!

8:30-9:30 (after the event): I need a break down crew to help clear and fold up tables. This might take less than an hour if enough people volunteer.

If any of these options sound interesting to you please come to the College and Career Center to sign up!
  • Jake Gentry, with Orphans to Ambassadors (a non-profit to help build ecologically sustainable orphanages in Africa) is looking for volunteers to help out at the gift-wrapping station at South Center Mall starting Friday, December 17th until Friday, December 24th. This is a fund raising event in which you will help wrap presents in exchange for donations for Orphans to Ambassadors. You can volunteer for one or as many shifts as you want.
