Welcome!

You've come to the right place for up to date information about internship, volunteer and job opportunities, as well as college application and scholarship deadlines, field trips, and events happening on campus. You'll also find posts on how to be as successful as possible when planning for your future!

At the bottom of this page you will find a google calendar with information about events, application deadlines, and program information. I find it easiest to navigate the calendar in "agenda" view, which you can switch it to by clicking the "agenda" tab in the upper right hand corner of the calendar.

In addition to the blog, we frequently send out emails with information that is then posted on the blog. Whether your a student, parents, or community member please feel free to join the list serve! You can do this by emailing me the message "add to list serve": macdanme@hsd401.org.

If you have any questions or need any support please stop into the LTI Office or College and Career Center, send an email, or call.

College Success Foundation @ HHS

New College Readiness Supports for Highline High School Students:

We have three new programs at HHS this year to support students and families. They include the College Success Foundation (CSF) Scholars Program for 11th graders, Higher Education Readiness Opportunity (HERO) Program for 9th and 10th graders and AmeriCorps support for 9th graders who signed up for the College Bound Scholarship.

If you want more information:

The CSF Scholars Program will hold an informational night for junior students (Class of 2012) and their families on Wednesday, October 20 at 6:30pm in the HHS Library. Students selected for the CSF Scholars Program will receive support services to ensure that they are college ready.

Program components include:
  • 1:1 mentoring support
  • academic and college readiness support
  • college and scholarship application help
  • a multi-day college experience during the summer
  • college visits
  • continued support as a college student and alumni.

Application to the program is open now through Friday, November 12, 2010 at 5pm.

Please contact Rebecca Reilly, College Prep Advisor in the College & Career Center located in the HHS Library for information on how to apply for the CSF Scholars Program and to inquire about HERO and AmeriCorps programming. Or call: (206) 631-6704
