Please find information below that was sent to me about an interesting community involvement opportunity for High School Students:
Hi, My name is Anita Chung, a Western Washington resident from Kirkland. I have co-founded a nonprofit youth literary online community, www.ponderlounge.org. We worked with a number of Seattle-based as well as some international teaching artists to develop an innovative, highly original, slightly academic approach to celebrate and facilitate the art of creative writing among young teens.
Our site launched last October. Membership has grown steadily, high-quality submissions have been coming in, and contests have been successful. To kick off our launch, we have an excellent internship opportunity for high school students interested in writing. The Blogger is a highly engaging online internship program; interns are empowered to define the daily lives of our original characters found on the site. To find out more, please click here.
Due to our nonprofit nature, such an internship may also be considered community service hours if applicable. We also welcome senior students to consider this opportunity for their culminating project.
I'd appreciate your comments/questions as well as your help to spread the word about PonderLounge. We would love to have interns and/or receive submissions from Highline High!
Regards,
Anita Chung
